DPP WatchDog is a strategic initiative aimed at promoting and ensuring data protection and privacy across digital platforms in Nigeria. In collaboration with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), this initiative seeks to monitor compliance, raise awareness, and enhance the overall landscape of data protection in the country.
The initiative focuses on regular audits and assessments of organizations handling personal data, establishing reporting mechanisms for data breaches, developing and disseminating guidelines for data protection best practices, and engaging with key stakeholders including government agencies, private sector entities, and civil society.
By working together with regulatory bodies and organizations, DPP WatchDog aims to increase compliance with data protection regulations, enhance public trust in digital services, promote a culture of proactive data management, and strengthen the legal framework surrounding data privacy in Nigeria.
